Appeal即申诉，是当本科留学、博硕留学的留学生挂科、被学术警告、留校察看、停学和开除等违反校规校纪时，学校会给学生一个申诉机会。通常最多的就是挂科申诉和学术不端申诉，，当你辛辛苦苦又一年发现分数40+，当你熬夜变秃论文改了八百回但被认定抄袭?这能忍?当然要义正言辞说不!

或者认为老师和学校对自己的处分不公正，我们也可以申诉!犯了错我认，但你不能欺负人是不是!今天万能班长教你用正确的姿势申诉，稳稳拿回属于自己的好成绩好名声!

申诉的一般情形

-由于非主观原因受到学术处分的学生

-受到学术处分，但认为处罚过重，希望减轻处分的学生

-希望消除不良记录，顺利拿到毕业证书的学生

-学校的任课老师对于学生教学指导监督不足，严重影响了学生最终考核结果

如何申诉?

申诉是个技术活，可不是觉得自己分数不好脑子一热就去了，以挂科申诉为例，要知道，申诉后的成绩可能并不比原来的成绩高，而无论结果如何，都会覆盖原来的分数。所以你没有十足的把握和证据，很可能原来60分，申诉完56，那可就是得不偿失了。先来看看申诉都有哪些类型和流程吧!

Review阶段

拿到成绩，除了唉声叹气，应该第一时间开始自查与反省，找到自己挂科/分数太低的原因，是assignment没写好?final没考好?还是平时出勤不够?做到心里有谱，然后在学校规定的review日期内，拿着本人学生卡去查阅卷子。

Tips

目前大多数还是线上考试，所以对自己成绩不满意的同学们需要和自己的unit coordinator申请review，不同学院也会组织统一的时间让大家查看试卷，一定不要错过时间!

想方设法把标准答案和自己的答案记下来，对之后写appeal letter特别有用!这就相当于手握关键证据，申诉有底气。

非正式申诉

非正式申诉是指跟原始批卷人或者与课程负责人进行非正式申诉。每个学院和学校的要求不同，一般来说appeal有效期限为出成绩后的15天-20天以内，所以一定要在有效期内提交申请表，发给有关部门。

同时，在对比答案后，要在review的过程中找到可以提分的点，申诉重新打分(Appeals against marks or grades)在申诉表中列举你认为可以申诉成功的原因证据，然后发送邮件给负责的部门。记得，一定要时刻追踪你的appeal进度哦!

Tips

申诉信要注意语言语句书面化，要条理清晰，有逻辑，记住这是一个严肃的事情。申诉内容要客观陈述，拒绝情绪化和卖惨，这样可能只会适得其反。做好申诉后结果不理想的心理准备。

正式院级申诉

当前面这些操作都没有成功或者存在争议时，没关系，我们可以进行学院的正式申诉，一般要在得知非正式申诉结果的 20 个工作日内提交正式申诉申请

这个阶段你需要准备好：

-一封对整个appeal的过程和原始成绩的解释信

-Informal appeal 非正式申诉阶段的判决结果

-与这门学科相关的作业、试卷以及任何可以帮助你提分的材料，越全越好!

-其他任何相关信息包括: 成绩单、医疗证明、父母家人等的证明信、与相关人员往来的信件证明等等

校级申诉

如果非常不幸，你在前面的申诉过程中都失败了，得到的结果也非常不理想，那么你还有最后一次和学校申诉的机会，一般很少有人会走到这一步，但真的到这里，也不用害怕!你需要知道的是，这是最后一次Apple的机会了，总结前面申诉失败的原因，最后一战!

Appeal Letter

本科留学、博硕留学期间申诉信的内容非常重要，大家一定要谨慎书写。一封正式申诉信的内容通常需要涵盖以下几点：

-说明造成违规行为/挂科/分数低等的原因

Dear Dean Smith and Members of the Scholastic Standards Committee:

I am writing to appeal my academic dismissal from XXX University. I was not surprised, but very upset to receive a letter earlier this week informing me of my dismissal. I'm writing with the hope that you will reinstate me for next semester. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to explain my circumstances.

I admit I had a very difficult time last semester, and my grades suffered as a result. I don't mean to make excuses for my poor academic performance, but I would like to explain the circumstances. I knew that registering for 18 credit hours in the spring would require a lot of me, but I needed to earn the hours so that I was on track to graduate on time. I thought I could handle the workload, and I still think I could have, except that my father became very ill in February. While he was home sick and unable to work, I had to drive home every weekend and some week nights to help out with household duties and to care for my little sister. Needless to say, the hour-long drive each way cut into my study time, as did the chores I had to do at home. Even when I was at school, I was very distracted with the home situation and was unable to focus on my schoolwork. I understand now that I should have communicated with my professors (instead of avoiding them), or even taken a leave of absence. I thought I could handle all of these burdens, and I tried my best, but I was wrong.

I love XXX University, and it would mean so much to me to graduate with a degree from this school, which would make me the first person in my family to complete a college degree. If I am rein stated, I will focus much better on my schoolwork, take fewer hours, and man age my time more wisely. Fortunately, my father is recovering and has returned to work, so I should not need to travel home nearly as often. Also, I have met with my advisor, and I will follow her advice about communicating better with my professors from now on.

Please understand that my low GPA that led to my dismissal does not indicate that I am a bad student. Really, I'm a good student who had one very, very bad semester. I hope you will give me a second chance. Thank you for considering this appeal.
